PERFORM WITH US...

Parks Alive! hires performers of all genres, styles and talent for our summer entertainment season. As a non-profit, community program that presents free concerts for the community, our performers receive an honorarium determined by such factors as the number of performers in a group, their experience and our budget for the event. As most Parks Alive! events are developed around musical themes, performers are selected to "fit" within the chosen genres where possible.

Performer applications are accepted year round, however Parks Alive! staff do not book our performers until mid-May. 

Parks Alive! requires performers for the 2008 Entertainment Season, presented by

  • Starbucks Family Tuesday Series
     - Tuesday evenings in July and August
     - various parks
     

  • Everest Recruitment Wednesday Night Showcase   - Wednesday evenings in July and August
    - Waterfront Park
     

  • Downtown Kelowna Mid-Day Music Thursdays
     - Thursdays in July and August, 12-2pm
     - City Park and Kerry Park
     

  • The Mission Group Legacy Series
     - Thursday evenings in July and August
     - various parks throughout City
     

  • 101.5 Silk FM Theme Weekend concerts
     - Friday & Saturday evenings in July and August
     - Kerry Park

  • Name of Group

  • Contact information and references

  • Style of music or entertainment your group performs best (style, genre, etc.)

  • Availability (specific dates or general times - i.e. weekends only)

  • Biographic material suitable for media release

  • Photographs

  • A sample of your performance (i.e. audio tape, CD, video) NOTE: Demos do not have to be professionally produced, but should be a good example of your performance style.

  My success in this community has a deep foundation in the support that was given to me by Parks Alive! One week I was playing at a coffee shop downtown, I had spent money on promotion, and production, got paid very little for my efforts, and 2 people showed up. When I played with Parks Alive! the first time, the audience was great and I was paid fairly for my performance. The stark contrast between these two experiences paints a picture of the power that Parks Alive! has to connect a community with some of the fantastic talent in this city that might not otherwise get the exposure necessary to make it to the next level.
