Le Centre culturel français de
l'Okanagan has participated in the Festival VU! alongside Parks Alive for 6
years and it has become a summertime tradition for us! It is important that we
continue to mix multi-culturalism with the many talented artists in our
community here in Kelowna. Each year has been a successful one with various
performing headliners such as St. Pierre and Alain François. This year we are
excited to introduce 2 successful musical groups, Bigtime and L'Eveque and it's
sure to be an unforgettable show!

DISCOVER A NEW WAVE
OF MUSIC
Bigtime is a group of
musicians of multi-ethnicities working out of a brand new francophone recording
and production studio in the Okanagan Valley. Bigtime is the heart of the
studio, playing an important role in the idea that multiculturalism can lead us
to better understand our own culture.
The
group is built on a mixture of different musical influences such as Santana or
Michael Rivard, with a country/rock texture. Their songs are based on
experience and you won’t be disappointed with their unique, fresh outlook and
new wave of musical discovery. Bigtime will be playing from 7:30pm to 9:30pm
for this highly anticipated concert! If you’re looking for a group of musicians
who will make you dance, laugh and play your favorite songs, come to the
Festival VU! Because you’re in for a night you won’t forget!
Bigtime est un groupe de musiciens multi-ethniques œuvrant sous le cadre d'un nouveau studio d'enregistrement & maison de production francophone dans la vallée de l'Okanagan. Bigtime est le cœur battant du studio, la partie intégrale d'un concept multiculturel donnant la chance de faire mieux découvrir la musique francophone. Ce groupe de musiciens amalgame différentes influences musicales (comme Michel Rivard ou Santana) avec une texture bien doser de country/rock et des histoires à raconter. Si vous cherchez un groupe de musiciens qui vous ferons danser, rire et passer une soirée superbe en écoutant vos chansons favorites venez en grand nombres car ce spectacle vous enchantera.............
L'ÉVÊQUE
The award winning
artist L'ÉVÊQUE from Montréal,
Québec, will be playing from 6:30pm to 7:30pm and from 9:30pm to 10:30pm. He’s
the winner of the 2007 competition, Ma première place des arts, in the musical
composer category. His songs are marked with his life experiences and he aligns
them with a new spin. Through his music you will hear influences of folk-rock,
pop for a refreshing, new, musical experience that you won’t forget!
Il est le lauréat
2007 dans la catégorie auteur-compositeur-interprète du concours Ma première
place des arts. Il est électricien, locataire, nouvellement père, comédien
amateur, ex-kamouraskois en costume de montréalais. Plus jeune, il rêvait de
Roméo et Juliette plutôt que de Bozo-les-culottes. Il a un cœur de bohème et
ses chansons sont marquées par la foudre des belles qu'il a rencontré sur son
chemin. Il raconte des histoires qui ont leur propre musique. Ses chansons, il
les veux folk-rock, un peu pop, rafraîchissantes, pour que tu les traînes
longtemps
